READY — A Posture for His Will, His Way

January 4–24

At Lifepointe, prayer and fasting is not about religious discipline or spiritual hype.
It is about formation.

For 21 days, we are choosing to slow down, seek God intentionally, and posture our hearts to become a people He can trust.

Before God multiplies a church, He matures a people.

This fast is not about earning God’s favor.
It is about aligning ourselves with His will and His way.

Types of fasting

In this fast, you consume only liquids—typically water, with light fruit or vegetable juices as needed.

This fast removes specific items from your diet. A common example is the Daniel Fast, which removes meat, sweets, and bread while focusing on fruits, vegetables, and water.

Sometimes called a “Jewish Fast,” this involves abstaining from food for part of the day—such as from sunup to sundown, or from 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

This fast focuses on non-food areas that may be out of balance. Examples include fasting social media, television, entertainment, or other habits that consume time and attention. This is a great option for those unable to fast food.

Some Guidelines
Set reasonable goals for our 21 days of fasting. Consider the following options:

• Fast one meal a day.
